Our work with clients always begins with identifying their challenges.
What is the ‘big question’ they need answered?
What does ‘good’ look like?
Getting the right talent with the right skills into the right jobs is critical to an organisation’s success. This challenge was even more acute working with a leading high street retailer. After a succession of ‘challenging hires’, the organisation was keen to increase confidence levels when hiring into senior-level leadership roles. Working with the client to understand its business challenges and define the criteria that enable leadership success, we implemented a fair and objective assessment process that equipped the hiring manager with the information needed to make an informed and confident selection decision.
how do we build leadership success?
Identifying and nurturing the business leaders of the future is fundamental to building an effective talent pipeline. But knowing who they are and giving them the confidence and coaching to enable their success can be challenging. Working across the finance, pharmaceutical, oil & gas and other sectors, we have worked with business leaders and talent professionals to implement tailored leadership development programmes that bring an effective mix of challenge, feedback and coaching to the learning environment. Combing this with our expertise in diversity and inclusion, we have also recently developed a positive action programme to support the progression of BAME employees.
how do we manage bias and build inclusion?
Building an inclusive working environment is what allows you to capitalise on your diversity. But, while having diversity policies and fair people processes is important, success or failure often sits with what people do on a daily basis to manage their own unconscious biases. Building on a deep understanding of the psychology behind how we process information and make decisions, we have worked with numerous clients to reinforce the important of diversity & inclusion, enhance understanding of bias as a key blocker to success, and build practical strategies for managing bias in recruitment, selection, performance management and general leadership behaviour.
